How it Works - The Endocannabinoid System*
How, exactly, does our organic tincture work to support soothing your mind and body? It all comes down to how full spectrum hemp interacts with your body's own Endocannabinoid System (ECS).
 
The ECS helps your body maintain homeostasis throughout the body. The ECS is a complex network of signaling molecules and receptors involved in brain function, gut health, immunity, and a healthy inflammatory response. 
 
The Endocannabinoid System has three components: receptors, enzymes, and endocannabinoids. These parts function regardless of whether someone uses Hemp or not.
 
Here is an overview of each component: 
Receptors exist throughout the body and are a substance to which endocannabinoids bind. Understanding the effects of Full Spectrum Hemp involves examining the relationship between the receptors and endocannabinoids.
 
There are two types of receptors: CB1 and CB2.
CB1 receptors are primarily in the Central Nervous System and Brain.
CB2 receptors are in the Peripheral Nervous System and Immune System.
After the enzymes break down the cannabinoids, the endocannabinoids look to bind with receptors.
Research suggests that the major pathway for CBD’s actions is the inhibition of the breakdown of the endocannabinoid anandamide, just one of many endocannabinoids produced by our bodies and potentially impacted by CBD use.

Terpenes not only provide all plants with their unique bouquet of scents, but more importantly produce a wide-range of therapeutic and mood-altering effects. For example, linalool (also found in lavender and strawberries) has been shown to promote relaxation. Pinene (also found in basil), and b-caryophyllene (also found in black pepper and basil) are being studied for anti-cancer therapeutics. Humulene (also found in hops) and geraniol are being studied for pain-relieving effects.
Plant Compounds MCT is the carrier oil for our full spectrum hemp which optimizes the tincture's bioavailability for maximum absorption. Our Formula and Extraction
With only 3 organic ingredients, you can feel good about what you're putting in your body. Beyond our strain specific, organic full spectrum hemp extract, you'll only find two additional ingredients: organic MCT oil (a carrier oil that enables fast-acting results) and our strawberry basil extract made from real strawberries and basil.
 
That's it! No preservatives, alcohol, fillers, or anything artificial—be it colors or flavors. Also, since we insist on extracting our cannabinoids from 100% organic, Colorado-grown hemp and using only organic ingredients, every drop of our CBD Tincture is free of pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilizers.
 
We use a gentle and cold extraction method using food-grade organic alcohol, and exclusively extract from hemp buds which are the most cannabinoid and terpene rich part of the hemp plant.

After the cold extraction, the residual alcohol is gently lifted from the extract resulting in an incredibly aromatic, pure, and quality hemp oil.
